NIEBO Project - Central and Eastern European Support Service


The Niebo Project offers free advice, guidance and help to vulnerable people from the following countries:

Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia who currently live in Leicester City.  We also try to support clients from Bulgaria and Romania.

We support people with needs such as:

  • Homelessness (including voluntary reconnection in conjunction with the Homeless Outreach Team)
  • Housing
  • Lack of documents
  • Unemployment
  • Educational needs
  • Language barriers
  • Accessing benefits
  • Difficulties accessing other services
  • Physical, mental health and substance misuse issues
  • Accessing legal support
  • Exploitation, discrimination and domestic violence
  • Social inclusion

Apart from individual sessions we provide the following activities:

  • Employment focused English classes in conjunction with the "Y" - Homeless Support Benefit Advice sessions
  • Benefit advice sessions
  • CV sessions
  • Mental health sessions in conjunction with Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust – Homeless Mental Health Service
  • Health sessions in conjunction with LASS and other health providers.

We also offer advice to other agencies working with Eastern European service users and joint work with hostel providers.
