What is this?

If you are caring for someone, in some circumstances, we can provide short break services for you to have time away from your caring responsibilities.

There are various types of support, services and activities available for the person you are caring for, depending on needs and interests, as well as for you directly, to help you have time off to do the things you need to do and to help you both to live life to the full, including:

·    Carer’s support scheme

·    Carer’s support fund

·    Someone to help you in the home

·    Mental health carer’s short breaks

·    Dementia / Alzheimer’s carer’s short breaks

How do I get this service?

Some of these services require that we work with you and the person you are caring for to carry out an assessment. If you are eligibledetails of your support will be written into the Support Planof the person you care for and the funding will come from their Personal Budget
